General babble

Here we are again.

What have I been doing? Back to work, which is good, and actually quite enjoyable. however being referred to the Occ Health people so things may go downhill (slowly, knowing bureaucracy).

Been writing a lot. For my amusement, I am writing a novel, Being as it is a historical mythical gay S&M romance I think it's too niche even for the niche markets but the actual experience is remarkably interesting. Fortunately my book research has coincided with the BBC's medieval season so I am a sponge of medieval titbits at present. I'm sorting out the tail end of Chapter 4 at present.

Word count is a bit of a cheat because large parts are lifted from some linked slash stories I wrote so theoretically I've got 22,000 words done already. However they need radical alteration, not least because I'm moving from two main characters to three and rewriting much of the background.

It does seem to be something I can do while not high, so that's progress of a sort. I did take some time off over the weekend to write an entry for a Robin Hood story site competition so I am waiting avidly for my validation in the form of comments from readers. Fortunately if you can write coherently people on these sites seem automatically impressed so I can expect something back in the way of flattery.

Going to Mull for a long weekend; setting off Thurs night and back Mon evening. Hopefully there will be eagles and otters, or at least ravens and buzzards. I'm meant to be playing one day in a disc golf tournament- last time I did that I came spectacularly last, but I see it as making everyone else happy.

Son is busy revising- I haven't seen much active evidence, but I believe him. So far he's had a PE practical- exams proper start in a couple of weeks.

We have tickets for Glastonbury :-) I've been wanting to go since I was 15, so this is the fulfilment of a long standing ambition. I don't recognise most of the line up , although Shakin Stevens is going to be there:-) Son is coming as well, with Middle Nephew. I haven't broken the news that I'm going to be spending 3 days listening to loud music and failing to sleep to my psych yet. A week later we fly to the States so that's jet lag too.

Now on anti-psychotics as well as the mood stablisers. They seem to work but I am growing steadily more rotund.

The Sondarian ep was easily the best this series. And so clearly a homage to Douglas Adams :-)

Watched Tales from Earthsea last night, Considerably better than the reviews had led me to expect. I'd forgotten the ending, so that was good.

Right, back to work.
