Feeling chatty again

Catching up. Been doing lots of outdoor things for the past few weeks and have been back at work. Back to normal mood so nothing much in the way of writing- have tidied up a patch of dialogue that I hated in If I Should Meet Thee- I tend to forget I can edit things after they are published. Now I'm moving away from what they call a "customer facing role" I 'm not so concerned about keeping slashy things away from association with my name so there might be more overlap in blog.

Bought S7 Buffy since we've just finished watching S6 and seasons are now down to a reasonable price (£18 each) in W H Smiths. S6 is my favourite (being heavily Spike centred- I worry sometimes that the fictional character I most identify with is a soulless demon) but it will be interesting to see S7 again. Also picked up secondhand copies of Constantine and The Crow Road- is there anyone in the world who doesn't love Iain (M) Banks?

Still watching Torchwood and Ashes to Ashes but not much else. Enjoyed the Richard the Lionheart programme last week, although it seemed deliberately cast to confuse Robin Hood fans. Reading some Jasper Fforde- am expecting slash to turn up at any moment- so far just some sly refs to fan fiction, which of course it is itself....

Planning a trip to the States and Toronto in July so most of my free time has been spent looking at hotel and airline webpages which are not at all interesting in themselves. Lots of trips to places coming up- Northumberland next weekend, a long walk up the Wye Valley on my own for a week and a half in three weeks' time, then a long weekend in Mull, then a week in the Isles of Scilly, then across the Atlantic. This comes of a) been so ill this year that I have lots of holiday left to use up by end May, b) Beloved who has taken up disc golf seriously and is driving to lots of nice bits of the country for weekends, c) Son doing GCSEs so finishing summer term early. I'm looking forward to all of them but particularly the idea of doing a long distance (136 miles) walk on my own with my little tent and sleeping bag. If it isn't too cold. We are camping in Northumberland next weekend so I could do with the weather warming just a touch.
